Christie Yu – Program Coordinator

Raised in Orlando, FL, I have spent most of my years there. As a proud mother of four incredible children, my family brings me immense joy and fulfillment.

My eldest son, Andrew, has chosen to serve in the US Navy, and I couldn’t be proud of his commitment and dedication. Meanwhile, Loriana, my nine-year-old daughter, along with Elinor, aged seven, and our little bundle of joy, Genevieve Marie, who is just five months old, bring endless love and laughter to our home.

After completing my studies at UCF, where I earned a degree in Hospitality Management, I embarked on a fulfilling career with Hilton Grand Vacations. However, as time went on, I felt a deep calling from God to prioritize my role as a mother and devote myself fully to raising Loriana. Thus, I made the decision to stay at home and embrace the journey of homeschooling.

For over six years now, I have been blessed to homeschool my children, providing them with a nurturing and faith-filled education. Almost three years ago, we joined Catholic Schoolhouse Orlando, a community that shares our values and enriches our lives through education and spiritual growth.

A little over two years ago, our family embarked on a new adventure, moving to Dripping Springs, a picturesque city nestled in the beautiful Hill Country just west of Austin, Texas. We recently made the difficult decision to head back to Orlando, starting a new chapter in our lives.

Teaching our children and living out our Catholic faith remain the driving forces behind our homeschooling journey. It is my hope and prayer that we may follow God’s will in this world, striving to join the saints in heaven one day.

Lauren Taylor – Supply Coordinator

My husband, John, and I have 5 children ages 13 – 4. We met while earning Undergraduate Business Degrees from UF and moved to Clearwater where we got married and started a family while I earned an MBA from USF. I am also a K-12 certified teacher and taught high school for 5 years before staying home with our children.  This year we are beginning our ninth year of homeschool and are so blessed to be a part of the Catholic Schoolhouse community. The Classical model allows us to learn together as a family, while the CSH chapter days allow us to have fun learning with friends. Our Catholic faith is present in every aspect of the day starting with Mass and ending with praying the Angelus. Catholic Schoolhouse has been an answer to our prayers and I am so excited to be a part of it!

Teresa Prieto – Administrative Coordinator

My husband Sean and I have 4 children ages 5, 3, 2 and soon to be born. I was born and raised in Spain. After moving to the US with my family, I attended Georgia Tech where I graduated with a BS in Aerospace Engineering and I met my husband. I also taught high school math for two years before deciding to stay home with my children. Our family loves reading, exploring the outdoors and traveling. We have been blessed to attend CSH for the last two years. It has been the highlight of the week for my children and I have really enjoyed the beautiful catholic community where my family is supported and enriched.

Bridget Newsum – Community Coordinator

I was born and raised in Florida. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Health Science and a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Florida (Go Gators). I met my husband at UF and we have three sons and one daughter that are  8,6,4 and 2. We love to be outdoors either biking, at the beach, pool time or playing sports. I previously worked as a physical therapist, but have loved the opportunity to homeschool our children. We joined CSH when we first started homeschooling because we wanted a Catholic community for our children. Our family loves CSH from the hands-on science experiments to the art projects and beautiful Catholic community!

Sarah Giammarinaro – Team Director

I was born and raised in the Orlando area. My husband of 12 years and I reside in Apopka and have four children, ages 7, 5, 2.5, and 10 months. I worked previously as an Executive Director for a Non Profit Organization as well as in Youth Ministry at St. Francis in Apopka. I have an Undergraduate Degree in Business Management from Florida State University and a Masters Degree in Theology from the Augustine Institute. We treasure our time together with the children and are so blessed by the Catholic Schoolhouse community and program. Excited for another amazing year!
